There is a Digital Tool for “That”…
In today’s digital age, technology has become an integral part of our lives. One aspect of this is the increased number of digital tools that make tasks simple, more efficient, and more fun. From social media and productivity apps to gaming and design software, there is a seemingly endless array of digital tools available.
Our digital agency has a diverse team of experts who utilize a wide range of digital tools to achieve their tasks. To gain insights into their preferred tools and the reasons for their usage, I posed the question, “What is one of your favorite digital tools that make your life easier?” in our #solid-dailies Slack channel. The responses were enlightening, and in this blog, we’ll look at some of the digital tools team members love and the unique ways in which different team members utilize them to improve their productivity and efficiency.
DocVariables
DocVariables is a powerful add-on for Google Docs, and Google Slides used by over 3,000 companies like InVision, Shopify, Verizon, and more. This tool allows the creation of dynamic, customizable documents that can be updated quickly and easily.
It has been used by our team since its inception, for proposals, process documentation, HR templates, and much more. It’s Our CEO, Jesse McCabe‘s favorite web app. Not only because it saves Jesse time while doing work but because he also has the ability to make updates and add new features as the creator and developer of DocVariables.
Obsidian
Our Director of Production, Peter Ajtai, introduced us to Obsidian. He has been using it for over a year to take notes and is impressed with its ease of syncing to mobile devices and ability to organize notes linearly throughout the day and extract specific paragraphs or sections into individual project notes.
Obsidian is known for its’ versatility, it has 25 core plugins, 831 community plugins, 165 themes, as well as custom styling which allows the user to tweak Obsidian to work how the user intends it to.
Trello
Trello’s popularity as a project management tool stems from its user-friendly interface, visually appealing organization, and ease of collaboration with others. Our project managers utilize Trello to manage their small tasks, reminders, and questions, providing them with a central location to track everything that doesn’t require a separate ticket.
With Trello’s flexible card-based system, organizing tasks and projects is a breeze. The simple drag-and-drop interface allows for the addition of comments, attachments, and due dates to cards, and categorization of cards into lists and boards. Real-time updates and notifications ensure seamless collaboration with team members, and Trello’s integration with other tools and services makes it a widely used choice for both personal and team project management.
Notion
Notion’s popularity as a productivity tool is due to its versatile and feature-rich offering. Several of our designers and developers selected Notion as a favorite tool for its powerful ability to simplify note-taking with special formatting, images, and plugins.
Notion offers a one-stop workspace that combines elements of task management, project management, and note-taking into a single platform. The customizable pages and real-time collaboration features make it easy to work together, and its integrations with other tools and services provide a seamless workflow. The user-friendly interface and mobile compatibility are just some of the reasons why Notion has become a go-to choice for individuals and organizations alike.
Notion is my partner in every meeting I have, and every project I work on... I just love it!

GoodNotes
Taking notes effectively is a key tool for enhancing memory retention. While traditional hand-written notes engage more areas of the brain, digital note-taking offers the added convenience of easy access and seamless synchronization. I personally prefer using GoodNotes for its all-in-one functionality, including note-taking, PDF annotation, daily scheduling, and seamless syncing across desktop and mobile devices. Additionally, its integration with other tools provides a streamlined workflow, making it a valuable tool in my note-taking arsenal.
With the multitude of web tools available, it can be overwhelming to determine which ones are worth your time. These tools have been vetted and are part of the ones that our digital agency team loves, and recommends. Give these a try, they might help you improve your efficiency and streamline your workflow. We hope this blog was informative and helpful in your search for the best tools.
