Bing

What is Bing?

Bing is a search engine developed by Microsoft, launched in June 2009 as a replacement for its earlier search platforms, Live Search and MSN Search. While Bing holds a small portion of the global search market, with a desktop market share of around 10%, it is still a notable competitor to Google, which dominates with over 80%. Bing’s search algorithm and organic results have sometimes been perceived as less refined compared to Google, though it continues to make improvements in areas like AI, image and video search. Bing’s user base tends to skew older or less tech-savvy, as many people use it because it’s the default search engine on Microsoft devices and browsers like Edge. Despite its smaller market share, Bing has carved out a niche with specific integrations and features that appeal to certain users and businesses and also attracts search PPC advertising through MSN Ads.
